Who We Are & What We Do
We are a community center serving the Cubuy-Lomas communities in the municipality of Canovanas on the island of Puerto Rico. The Cubuy-Lomas community center is a project led by Javier Valedon, founder and President of ID Shaliah Inc., with the help of volunteers from the non-profit organization. They have transformed a vacant elementary school building that was abandoned in 2017 into a community center to support the Cubuy-Lomas communities in Puerto Rico. The center is set to open in 2023 to offer medical and pharmaceutical services, meals, and educational programs (and so much more!) to the residents of Cubuy-Lomas.
Mission
Our mission is to create absolute autonomy to supply the needs of the Cubuy-Lomas communities through a central hub that provides accessible services to all citizens. The goal of our initiatives is to build a stronger, united prosperous community.
Vision
Our vision was to establish a sustainable, resilient community center that could support citizens through providing helpful supplies and access to essential services during times of crisis and recovery, as well as offer a safe place to convene and obtain basic necessities that otherwise might be unobtainable to citizens.
